A Book I loved Reading- Malory Towers

“You will get a tremendous lot out of Malory Towers. See that you give a lot back….” These are Miss Grayling’s words to all girls when they first come to Malory Towers. Darrell is a new girl at Malory Towers. Arriving at Malory Towers, Darrell has to deal with one careless scatterbrain, one scaredy-cat afraid of her own shadow, one obsessive voice, one irresponsible genius, one conceited pickpocket, one silent piece of talent and one interfering superior. With a form like this, Malory Towers is sure to have a hard time. However, time fades away and while some find their hidden talents, there are others who realize where they really belong. One more amusing aspect of this book is the two Ma’am Zelle rivals who live up to upholding the humor of this book.

This book generally appeals to teens because in that typical boarding school air, this book gives you the classic storybook feeling that every reader can relate to. I love the down-to- earth and realistic plot of the story- Every girl (however foolish or insane she might be) when she leaves Malory Towers learns to take with her an eager mind, a kind heart and a will to help the world.

I think teenagers should read this book for the message they give- “Successes are not won scholarships or passed exams, though these are good things to do. We can only call ourselves successful when we learn to be kind, sensible, trustable, good, sound people the world can lean on.” These books tell us how the people we meet and the things we learn can affect our outlook towards the world. Nevertheless, the series does not end here as new characters turn up (this includes Darrell’s younger sister-Felicity) and Malory Towers is yet to make young reasonable women of them.

Another remarkable thing about this novel is that there are kinks everywhere, which succeed in retaining your interest until the very end and never let you get bored of the story. All in all, “Malory Towers” is an extremely enjoyable read, which will keep you reading, laughing and ultimately craving for more.
